Material examined. Dam Bay, natural mangroves, 2 specimens.
Abundance. Rare.
Measurements. Up to 40 mm (Okutani 2000).
Ecological notes. Spawn are deposited on the undersides of rocks. Reproduction lecithotrophic, with short (about 24 hours) free-swimming phase (Houbrick 1985).
Epifaunal inhabitant of the upper intertidal zone, usually occurs in dense populations on hard substrate, where it frequently clusters at low tide (Houbrick 1985).
In studied sites only two specimens of this species were found on the pneumatophores of mangrove trees in upper intertidal zone.
Relation to mangroves. Eurybiotic.
Distribution in Vietnam. Northern-east coast, northern delta, central coast (Thach 2005).
General distribution. Wide Indo-Pacific distribution (Houbrick 1985).
