Material examined. Nha Phu, Dam Bay, in natural and planted mangroves, about 20 specimens.

Abundance. Common.

Measurements. Up to 20 mm (Okutani 2000).

Ecological notes. Development with free swimming veliger (Fukumori & Kano 2014).

Found on mangrove tree trunks and stilt roots, on muddy rocks at coastal fringes of mangroves, on boulders in sheltered waters or estuary (Okutani 2000; Tan & Clements 2008).

In studied sites it was found on sediment surface under mangrove trees and occasionally on pneumatophores of Rhizophora trees.

Relation to mangroves. Eurybiotic.

Distribution in Vietnam. Northern - east coast, central coast, southern delta (Thach 2005).

General distribution. IWP: India to Samoa, and southern Japan to northern Australia (Frey 2010).
