Material examined. Nha Phu Bay, Dam Bay, mangrove plantation, 30 specimens.
Abundance. Common.
Measurements. Up to 35 mm (Reid 1986).
Ecological notes. Ovoviviparous species (Reid 1986).
Lives on trunks and leaves of trees in Avicennia fringe, occasionally on the roots and trunks of outermost Rhizophora trees, to 1.7 m above the ground (Reid 1986), also reported as brackish Nypa mangal inhabitant (Lozouet & Plaziat 2008).
In studied sites it was found on trunks and roots of mature Rhizophora trees.
Relation to mangroves. Predominantly mangrove-associated.
Distribution in Vietnam. Central coast, southern delta (Thach 2005).
General distribution. Strictly Indo-Malayan species (Reid 1986).
