Rimapenaeus constrictus (Stimpson, 1871)
Material examined. Petro-UFS—369 (1 M, 12 F, 3 NS); size range: 4.75 ≤ CL ≤ 17.04 mm; average: CL = 11.26 ± 3.41 mm; CZUFS CRU- 00085.
Stations. Petro-UFS—1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 13, 14, 16, and 17.
Distribution. Western Atlantic—From Canada (Nova Scotia) to Brazil (from Amapá to Santa Catarina) (Costa et al. 2003).
Ecological notes. Shallow waters, from 2 to 40 m depth (Williams 1984; Costa et al. 2003; Costa & Fransozo 2004). Found on sediments composed of shell, mud, and gravel (Williams 1984; Costa & Fransozo 2004).
Remarks. Previously recorded as Penaeus constrictus (Stimpson 1871), as Penaeopsis agassizii Bouvier (De Grave & Fransen 2011), and as Trachypenaeus constrictus (Pérez-Farfante 1971; Coelho & Ramos 1972; Coelho et al. 2006). Santos et al. (2016) found the specimens were downstream of the the São Francisco River, at the border of Alagoas and Sergipe.
