Material examined. Penaeid—4 (2 F, 2 OF); size range: 3.38 ≤ CSL ≤ 6.62 mm; average: CSL = 4.24 ± 1.58 mm; CZUFS CRU- 00260.
Stations. Penaeid—4 and 9.
Distribution. Western Atlantic—Florida (USA), Antilles, Mexico, Yucatan, Cuba, Puerto Rico, Barbados, Colombia, Curaçao, Venezuela, Trinidad and Tobago, the north of South America, and Brazil (Seamount of Fernando de Noronha, from Maranhão to Bahia, and São Paulo) (Melo 1999; Alves et al. 2006).
Ecological notes. Up to 140 m. On coral reefs, calcareous algae, sponges, and under rocks and Halimeda Lamouroux bottoms (Veloso & Melo 1993).
Remarks. Petrolisthes serratus Henderson, is similar to, if not identical with, Petrolisthes amoenus (Rathbun 1900) .
