Pagurus brevidactylus (Stimpson, 1859)

Material examined. Penaeid—2 M; size range: 0.811 ≤ CSL ≤ 15.33 mm; average: CSL = 8.07 ± 10.26 mm; CZUFS CRU- 00337.

Stations. Penaeid—3.

Distribution. Western Atlantic—Bermuda, Florida, Gulf of Mexico, Antilles, Central America, the north of South America, Brazil (Fernando de Noronha, and from Pernambuco to Santa Catarina) (Melo 1999).

Ecological notes. From shallow waters to 50 m. On sand, algae, and rocks bottoms (Melo 1999).

Remarks. The records made by Coelho (1964), as Pagurus miamensis, and by Coelho & Ramos (1972), as P. miamensis miamensis, were later attributed to P. brevidactylus, as its senior synonym (Nucci & Melo 2007; Almeida et al. 2010).
