Material examined. Petro-UFS—64 (9 M, 3 F, 1 OF); size range: 41.72 ≤ CW ≤ 71.12 mm; average: CW = 54.35 ± 8.73 mm; CZUFS CRU- 00018. Penaeid—7 (3 M, 4 F); size range: 30.67 ≤ CW ≤ 51.22 mm; average: CW = 41.71 ± 7.43 mm; CZUFS CRU- 00226.
Stations. Petro-UFS—1, 2, 7, 9, 11, 13, 14, 15, 16, and 17; Penaeid—2, 3, 8, and 9.
Distribution. Western Atlantic—USA (Georgia, Gulf of Mexico), Antilles, Venezuela, Guyana, French Guiana, and Brazil (from Amapá to Rio Grande do Sul). Eastern Atlantic—From Guinea to South Africa (Melo 1996).
Ecological notes. From shallow waters to 160 m, on mud, sand, and shell bottoms (Melo 1996). Sometimes carries anemones and barnacles on its carapace (Melo 2008, 2010).
