Stenorhynchus seticornis (Herbst, 1788)
Material examined. Penaeid—7 (6 M, 1 OF); size range 5.7 ≤ CW ≤ 8.74 mm; average: CW = 7.58 ± 1.26 mm; CZUFS CRU- 00240.
Stations. Penaeid—1, 3, and 6.
Distribution. Western Atlantic—USA (North Carolina, Florida, Gulf of Mexico), Antilles, Guyana, French Guiana, Brazil (from Amapá to Rio Grande do Sul), Uruguay, and Argentina (Melo 1996).
Ecological notes. From shallow waters to high depths. On rock, coral, calcareous algae, sand, and shell bottoms (Melo 1996), also associated with sponges. Moves slowly, in hops. Do not camouflage itself and is parasitized sometimes by sacculinids (Melo 2008). Associated with Bryozoa Schizoporella unicornis at Southeastern of Brazil (Alves et al. 2013).
