Distribution. Western Atlantic—Eastern of United States, Gulf of Mexico, Yucatan, Antilles, the north of South America, and Brazil (from Espírito Santo to Rio Grande do Sul) (Coelho-Filho & Coelho 1996; Melo 1998; Serejo et al. 2006).

Ecological notes. From 50 and 640 m. On sand and corals bottoms (Melo 1996).
