Material examined. Petro-UFS—14 (2 M, 2 F, 1 OF); size range: 6.31 ≤ CL ≤ 8.23 mm; average: CL = 7.32 ± 8.23 mm; CZUFS CRU- 00030. Penaeid—1 M; CL: 6.33 mm; CZUFS CRU- 00344.

Distribution. Western Atlantic—USA (Bahamas, south of Florida), Mexico, Veracruz and Quintana Roo, Antilles, from Cuba to Curaçao, and Brazil (Atol das Rocas, and from Piauí to Rio Grande do Sul) (Christoffersen 1979; Martínez-Iglesias et al. 1996; Almeida et al. 2007 b, 2018; Soledade & Almeida 2013).
Remarks. Alpheus floridanus is a species complex (Anker 2001; Soledade & Almeida 2013) and requires a revision to be better elucidated. Therefore, the species is being mentioned as A. cf. floridanus . Records from the Eastern Pacific refer to other species (Soledade & Almeida 2013).
