Hypatima loxosaris (Meyrick, 1918) — Janse 1949: 45.
Material examined. 1♂, AM 163, South Africa, Gauteng, Krokodilspruit, 25°35’12,5”S 28° 25’42,9”E (A. & I. Sharp) (gen. slide 195/18, O. Bidzilya) (HSS) .
Biology. The larva was observed feeding on Dichrostachys cinerea (Fabaceae) in late February. Adult emerged 7.iii (Staude et al. 2020: 55). First host-plant record for this species.
Distribution. South Africa, Mozambique (Meyrick 1918; Janse 1949: 45).
Remarks. The male genitalia of H. loxosaris (Fig. 11) do not match those of the genus Hypatima Hübner, 1825 . The generic assignment of the species needs to be appraised in the context of a revision.
