Remarks. Miers (1886: 227; footnote, 228) synonymised Pseudorhombila (Pilumnoplax) normani Miers, 1885, with Pilumnoplax heterochir (Studer, 1883) . Miers (1886) made a reference to the earlier description published in the Narrative and cites “Miers, Narr. Chall. Exp., vol. i. pt. ii. p. 587, 1880”. His 1880 date of publication may be a typographical error but this is not listed in the Challenger Brachyura errata. Pilumnus heterochir Studer, 1883, is the type species of Neopilumnoplax Serène, in Guinot, 1969. Pseudorhombila normani was overlooked by Guinot in her generic reappraisal (1969) and in her synthesis (1971). This species was not listed as a synonym of N. heterochir by Ng et al. (2008).

Valid as Neopilumnoplax heterochir (Studer, 1883) .
