Holotype: ♂ [China] brownish label: A-tun-tse, Nord Yuennan, Obere Hӧhe 4500 m, 17.7.1937 H. Hӧne / red label: Holotypus/ white label: Hermonassa ellenae Brsn. ♂, Holotype/. Deposited in ZFMK, Bonn, examined.

Distribution and biology.

Hermonassa ellenae ellenae is known only from its type locality, A-tun-tse, Prov. Yunnan, China. The holotype was collected 17 July 1937 at an altitude of 3000 m (Boursin 1967).
