Paratype. MNRJ 4169, adult male, collected at the type locality by O.L. Peixoto, C.A.G. Cruz, and E. Izecksohn, in 28–29 October 1981 .
Type locality. “Santa Tereza, Estado do Espírito Santo, Brasil”. Here updated for Municipality of Santa Teresa (19 o 56’S, 40 o 36’W; Datum WGS 84; 90– 1.040 m a.s.l.), State of Espírito Santo, Brazil.
Remarks. The genus Zachaenus Cope, 1866 was synonymized with Cycloramphus Tschudi, 1838 by Dubois et al. (2021: 686). However, Dubois et al. (2021) failed to observe that, in proposing the synonymy, two valid species names were now secondary homonyms, viz., Cycloramphus carvalhoi (Izecksohn, 1983 “1982”) and Cycloramphus carvalhoi Heyer, 1983, as pointed out by Segalla et al. (2021: 124). Since Cycloramphus carvalhoi (Izecksohn, 1983 “1982”) has priority as the senior homonym, the species described by Heyer (1983) required a nomen novum (see below).
