Papuakutara lucidicosta (Walker) comb. nov.
(Fig. 1H)
Iassus lucidicosta Walker, 1869: 323 –324.
Kutara lucidicosta, Zhang & Webb, 1996: 16, fig. 495.
Material examined. Lectotype female, “N Gui, Wallace” “68.4” [reg. no. 1868.4], NHMUK 0 10748284 (BMNH).
Remarks. This species was described from an unspecified number of specimens (syntypic). The lectotype, designated by Zhang & Webb (1996: 16), was listed as female but the sex of the specimen lacks its abdomen (as they also note, p.16 under generic Remarks) and in its original description it was recorded as male. Their similar figured female specimen (Zhang & Webb, 1996: Fig. 495) from Kokoda (Papua New Guinea) (BMNH), also of uncertain identity due to the absence of an associated male, belongs to the same genus as do several other similar specimens in the BMNH collection, including those from West Papua (see generic Remarks).
