Megalophthalmus godmani Gorham 1881: 34

Four syntype specimens were located, one bearing a red type label. Gorham (1881) does not mention how many specimens he viewed; however, he does list a range for body measurements. The specimen bearing a red type label is designated as the lectotype, while the three others are designated as paralectotypes. Labels for the designated lectotype specimen are as follows:

“ SYN-/ TYPE ” “Type” “Cubilguitz,/Vera Paz./Champion.” “ B.C.A.Col. III.(2)./ Megalophthalmus /godmani/Gorham” “Megalopthalmus/ godmani,Gorh:”. A red label is added with the following text: “ LECTOTYPE / Megalophthalmus godmani / Gorham/Designated by/Martin and Powell 2020” .
