TYPE LOCALITY: India, Sikkim, Pashok .
DISTRIBUTION: Nepal and N. Burma to Yunnan, Kwangtung, and Hainan ( China) and Vietnam.
COMMENT: The synonym koratensis was used for this species by Marshall, 1977, in Lekagul and McNeely, pp. 471-472; also see Musser et al., 1979, J. Mammal., 60:599. R. remotus is considered a conspecific by GGM (JTM).
