Cicindelidia punctulata (Olivier) View in CoL – Punctured
tiger beetle (S5)
Lawton (2008) first reported C. punctulata in northern Ontario from near Kenora, southern Kenora District, near the Manitoba border. Our record from the Depew River, Algoma District ( Fig. 13 View Fig ), is about

700 km east of the Kenora record and well north of any Ontario records mapped by Wallis (1961) or Pearson et al. (2015), neither of which show any records for the north shore of Lake Superior region. This species is widely distributed in North America, with the subspecies C. punctulata punctulata occurring in Ontario. In the east, C. punctulata punctulata occurs mainly in dry, upland habitats with hard-packed soils and sparse grasses (e.g., old roads/trails, pastures, city lawns, sand pits, dunes, strip mines) (Pearson et al. 2015).
