Redescription. FEMALE (holotype and non-type specimens). Body length (dry specimens) 760–990 µm. Body mostly dark brown except base of gaster whitish to yellowish, hypopygium brown, and occasionally dorsellum light brown; midlobe of mesoscutum with a slightly lighter (brown) transverse submedian stripe. Scape light brown to brown, pedicel light brown, flagellum brown. Procoxa and base of mesocoxa, all femora, and most of mesotibia and metatibia brown; most of mesocoxa, metacoxa, all trochanters, protibia, bases of mesotibia and metatibia, and all tarsi light brown.
Vertex transversely striate, with a few short setae.
Antenna ( Fig. 22 View FIGURES 22, 23 ) with short setae. Scape about 5.0 x as long as wide; pedicel much longer than F1; all funicular segments longer than wide; F1 the shortest funicular segment, F2–F4 subequal in length and each shorter than F5 or F6, F5 about as long as F6; F1–F4 without longitudinal sensilla, F5 and F6 each with 2 longitudinal sensilla; clava 2.8–3.5 x as long as wide, with 6 longitudinal sensilla.
Mesosoma. Each lobe of pronotum with several strong setae. Mesoscutum wider than long, its midlobe finely longitudinally striate and with 1 pair of strong setae. Axillar seta a little shorter than 1/3 length of scutellum. Scutellum a little shorter than mesoscutum, posterior scutellum finely longitudinally striate. Dorsellum broadly angulate posteriorly.
Wings. Forewing ( Fig. 23 View FIGURES 22, 23 ) 4.3–5.1 x as long as wide; blade slightly infumate, more so apically, with setae only in the distal 3/10 and also partially along margins; longest marginal cilia 1.2–1.3 x greatest width of wing. Hind wing 17–18 x as long as wide, almost as long as forewing; blade notably infumate distally; longest marginal cilia 3.4–4.1 x greatest wing width.
Metasoma. Petiole much wider than long. Gaster longer than mesosoma; ovipositor with a large basal loop, 7/10–9/10 length of gaster, a little or markedly exserted beyond apical gastral tergum (by 1/18 to 1/3 of ovipositor length, depending on the size and configuration of its basal loop: the shorter the latter is, the more the ovipositor is exserted), and 1.7–2.1 x length of metatibia.

MALE. Unknown.
Diagnosis. Member of the clavatus species group. Like E. (E.) mudrila sp. n., E. (E.) burtik sp. n., and the Palaearctic species E. (E.) kostjukovi S. Triapitsyn , E. (E.) clavatus has longitudinal sensilla on F5 and F6 of the female antenna. It differs from E. (E.) mudrila sp. n. and E. (E.) burtik sp. n., both of which have scape of the female antenna notably dilated in the middle (about 4 x as long as wide), by the scape that is only slightly dilated in the middle (about 5 x as long as wide). Erythmelus (E.) clavatus differs from E. (E.) kostjukovi , which has a similar female scape (5.3 x as long as wide), mainly by having setae mostly on the apical 1/3 of the forewing blade. The forewing of E. (E.) kostjukovi is more or less uniformly setose on the distal 1/2 of the blade ( Triapitsyn 2003).
