Philisca ornata Berland, 1924: 435 View in CoL (male and female syntypes, from the Juan Fernandez Islands, Más a Tierra, 28.XII.1916, K. Bäckström, in NRS, S.P.E. 188, and male paratype from Más a Tierra, 1917, Bäckström [labeled “cotype”], in MHNP, not reexamined). Ramírez, 2003: 181 View Cited Treatment .

Diagnosis: It resembles other species of the ornata group by the modified male chelicerae and the epigyne with smooth, heart shaped median field close to the epigastric furrow ( Figs 34f View FIGURE 34 , 12b, c View FIGURE 12 ). It can be distinguished having a large yellow body ( Fig. 1d View FIGURE 1 , 13a View FIGURE 13 ) and a very long male palpal tibia ( Fig. 34f View FIGURE 34 ; Ramírez 2003: fig. 98c).

Description: Male and female described in Ramírez (2003).

Distribution: Known only from the Juan Fernandez Archipelago, Robinson Crusoe Island, Chile.
