Material examined. Petro-UFS—6 (2 M, 1 F, 1 OF); size range: 7.53 ≤ CSL ≤ 8.27 mm; average: CSL = 8.00 ± 0.33 mm; CZUFS CRU- 00027. Penaeid—13 (7 M, 5 F, 1 OF); size range: 3.68 ≤ CSL ≤ 7.81 mm; average: CSL = 5.61 ± 1.42 mm; CZUFS CRU- 00258.
Stations. Petro-UFS—6, 12, 15, and 18; Penaeid—3, 4, 5, 7, and 9.
Distribution. Western Atlantic—USA (western region, Bermuda, Florida), Antilles, Venezuela, the north of South America, and Brazil (Fernando de Noronha, Atol das Rocas, Banks off the coast of Ceará, Rio Grande do Norte, and from Pará to São Paulo) ( Melo 1999; Mantelatto et al. 2001; Almeida et al. 2007 a, b).
Ecological notes. From shallow waters to a depth of 100 m. On rocks, shells, calcareous algae, corals, or meadows of sponges from the genus Halodule sp. Endlicher ( Melo 1999; Almeida et al. 2007 a, b).
Remarks. Hermit crabs from Petro-UFS living on shells of Xenophora conchyliophora (Born) , Strombus sp. Linnaeus, and Phyllonotus pomum (Gmelin) .
