Material examined. Petro-UFS—5 M; size range: 6.30 ≤ CW ≤ 14.45 mm; average: CW = 10.86 ± 3.09 mm; CZUFS CRU- 00107. Penaeid—1 OF; CW = 1.26 mm; CZUFS CRU- 00239.
Station. Petro-UFS—6 and 12; Penaeid—8.
Distribuição. Western Atlantic—Colombia and Brazil (from Maranhão to São Paulo, and Santa Catarina) ( Melo 1996 as Podochela algicola ; Coelho 2006; Bouzon & Freire 2007; Boos et al. 2012).
Ecological notes. From 24 to 90 m. Found on sand, and calcareous algae bottoms ( Melo 1996). Associated with macroalgae ( Bouzon & Freire 2007). Body camouflaged with pieces of algae among the setae of the ambulatory legs and on the carapace ( Melo 2008 as Podochela algicola ).
Remarks. Coelho (2006) transferred Podochela algicola from Podochela Stimpson to Coryrhynchus Kingsley , in a revision of the genus Podochela .
