Material examined. Petro-UFS—14 (2 M, 2 F, 1 OF); size range: 6.31 ≤ CL ≤ 8.23 mm; average: CL = 7.32 ± 8.23 mm; CZUFS CRU- 00030. Penaeid—1 M; CL: 6.33 mm; CZUFS CRU- 00344.
Stations. Petro-UFS—8, 14, and 15; Penaeid—6.
Distribution. Western Atlantic—USA ( Bahamas, south of Florida), Mexico, Veracruz and Quintana Roo, Antilles, from Cuba to Curaçao, and Brazil (Atol das Rocas, and from Piauí to Rio Grande do Sul) ( Christoffersen 1979; Martínez-Iglesias et al. 1996; Almeida et al. 2007 b, 2018; Soledade & Almeida 2013).
Remarks. Alpheus floridanus is a species complex ( Anker 2001; Soledade & Almeida 2013) and requires a revision to be better elucidated. Therefore, the species is being mentioned as A. cf. floridanus . Records from the Eastern Pacific refer to other species ( Soledade & Almeida 2013).
