This widely distributed species was first reported from American Samoa by Schedl (1951a) as its synonym Xyleborus semigranosus Blandford. View in CoL X. crassiusculus View in CoL is the most widespread xyleborine species in the world and occurs in tropical, subtropical and temperate regions ( Flechtmann & Atkinson 2016). It was one of the most common species in ethanol-baited traps during this survey.
