Schedl (1951a) reported this species from Tutuila as its synonym X. silvestris Beeson. It View in CoL is a common species throughout the tropics, and although it was not recorded during this survey, it is possible that the species was confused with the thousands of specimens of X. perforans View in CoL from which it is distinguished with difficulty.
