Schedl (1951a) and Beaver (1976 as Xyleborinus perexiguus Schedl View in CoL ) reported this species from Upolu, Samoa. It occurs in Africa, Asia, Australia, North America and many of the Pacific islands. It was one of the most common species in ethanol-and quercivorol - baited traps during this survey.
