This species was recorded from Upolu by Beeson (1929) and Schedl (1951a) as its synonyms Xyleborus submarginatus Blandford View in CoL and X. parvulus Eichhoff. It View in CoL has been moved around the world likely through commerce, and is now found through most of tropical and subtropical Asia and the Pacific, and in the Afrotropical and Nearctic Regions.
