Schedl (1951a) reported this species as H. oahuensis View in CoL from Tutuila (Afono trail, Utulei and Maloata). This species is widespread across the tropics.

Current survey records: American Samoa: Tutuila Isl.: Aoa, Fagatogo, Iliili, Malaeimi, Tafuna; Ta‘ū Isl.: Fitiuta, Ta‘ū.
