Remarks: In Mahnert (1979) there are 5 males, 43 females, 3703 tritonymphs and 9 deutonymphs listed after the holotype designation. This material was not cited as paratype in original publication. According to the author the paratype of this material has been lost (Volker Mahnert, in litt.). INPA-PS 365 – INPA-PS 405 were formally deposited at INPA, however, they are labeled only as Tyrannochthonius n. sp. Remarks: Although Mahnert (1985) designed only one male paratype collected by J. Wellington de Morais at Tarumã Mirim between 1982–1983 there are two males fitting his descriptions and labeled as paratypes (INPA-PS 452 and INPA-PS 453). Eight other specimens (4 females and 4 deutonymphs) were labelled as paratypes by the author, but not listed in the material examined. These specimens are all considered herein to hold paratype status following article 72.4.1.1 of the International Code of Zoological Nomenclature (1999).
