Type specimens. Holotype, F, THAILAND: Chaing Mai Pr., Chaing Dao W.R., Patang Stn., 19.54'N, 98.97'E, 500 m alt., 13.vi.2002, Cognato & Gillogly, ex 5 Aceraius helferi (Kuwert) . Deposited in EMBT. Paratypes, 3 F, 2 M, same data as holotype (S74141-45), deposited in QM.

Diagnosis. Both sexes: idiosoma 1410 –1430 long; anterior hyaline projection does not extend past CxI; exopodal patterning between CxII–III heavily sclerotised; pedofossae III and IV present; seta h1 with one long branch; distal spine-like process on palp femur minute or absent; both non-filamentous excrescences ribbon-like with crenate and serrated edges, subequal in length; femur III and IV with large lamellae. Female: sternal shield smooth; seta st 1 12–15 long, much shorter than base of tritosternum; setae st2-4 5–8 long; sternogynial shield lineate-reticulate posteriorly, anterior margin straight. Male: tetartosternum U-shaped, presternal processes absent; sternoventral shield (anterior of genital opening) smooth; seta st1 <10 long; genital opening placed between CxII–III, not flanked by pores.

Description. Female: Idiosoma 1410 –1430 long, 1140–1160 wide, without large dorsal pores; anterior hyaline projection with 1 pair of barbed setae 83–95 long. Marginal setae 10–12 long. Tritosternum base 73– 80 long, 38–40 wide. Tetartosternum and sternal shield smooth; tetartosternum roughly rectangular, 73–78 long, 60–63 long at midline, 200–210 wide; st1 lightly barbed, 12–15 long; st2-4 5–8 long; posterolateral margin of sternal shield blunt, st3-4 on 5–8 behind posterior margin. Sternogynial shield 193–203 long, 190–210 wide, with lineate reticulation on posterior half. Internally, the mesogynial and posterior latigynial shield are complex, with a pair of sclerites extending ca. 90 posteriorly. Ventral shield with lineate reticulation, 7 pairs of large pores (ca. 8 diameter) along CxIV-marginal suture, ca. 12 pairs of minute pores, and ca. 15 pairs of small (<5 long) setae; pores laterad CxIV clustered but less so than other species. Ventrianal shield 225–250 long, 610–680 wide, with transverse linear reticulation, ventrianal setae 10–12 long, paranal setae 95–105 long; anterolateral corner of ventrianal shield fused with ventral shield. Marginal shields with lineate reticulation. Intercoxal region between CxII–III heavily sclerotised, without patterning. Pedofossae III, IV and CxIV-marginal suture present.

Legs. TrI with seta pv1 slightly thicker than seta av1. FeI with seta pv3 longer and thicker than setae pv1 and pv2. FeII with ventral lamella, seta ad1 barbed and thickened. GeII with seta ad3 barbed, spine-like. FeIII with lamella, expanded distal to av1, seta pv1 barbed, thickened. GeIII with seta pd2 thickened. FeIV with lamella, expanded distal to av1, seta pv1 barbed, thickened, seta pd2 just proximal to seta ad2. TaII–III with seta av2 thickened, subequal length to seta av3. Tarsus IV with seta av2 thickened, shorter than seta av3. Legs II–IV with setiform ad and pd setae.

Gnathosoma . Seta h1 curved, 103–108 long, with one long barb, distance between h1–h 1 30–35; h2 with few barbs 68–85 long; h3 smooth, 5–12 long, posterolaterad h2; palpcoxal seta 12–18 long. Corniculi on tubercles ca. 20 long. Palp, seta av1 on trochanter with numerous small barbs, 70–83 long, seta av2 with fewer small barbs. Chelicerae, fixed digit 235–238 long, movable digit 88–90 long; fixed digit with 3 large and 1 minute subapical tooth; excrescences arise from an enlarged base and comprise a large brush-like process and two ribbon-like process, the latter each with a serrate edge, extending at least 110 past end of chelicerae.

Male: Idiosoma 1400 long, 1180 wide. Tetartosternum U-shaped, maximum length 133–143, length 60– 70 at midline, 263–268 wide; st1 smooth, 8 long; st2 smooth, 8 long; st3 smooth, 8–12 long. Genital opening 123 long, 118–120 wide. Ventral, ventrianal and marginal shields with lineate reticulation. CxI expanded medially, much larger then female CxI. Gnathosoma . Seta h 3 12–15 long, positioned anteromedially to seta h2. Palpcoxal seta 28–43 long.

Remarks. This striking species is unusual in that that the male retains a tetartosternum, although this is notably unlike the rectangular or crown-shaped shield in Fedrizzia , but is U-shaped.

Etymology. It is a pleasure to name this species in honour of my father Gordon Seeman.
