Type material: ‘‘ San Luis Potosí, Mex., Sept 1878, Ed. Palmer Coll’’, ‘‘Kinsey cuto out of gall, 5.1.19 ’’, ‘‘ Andricus marmoreus / COTYPE’’ (red label), ‘‘Type 13837 ’’ (red label), ‘‘ MCZ-ENT 00013837 ’’, ‘‘ LECTOTYPE Andricus marmoreus Kinsey, 1920 , design. M. Ferrer-Suay 2016 ’’ (red label).

Comments. According to the original description of A. marmoreus , the cotypes (two females and 58 galls) were deposited in the MCZ and in the author’s collection. In the AMNH Kinsey collection there are no specimens labelled as A. marmoreus . One specimen was found in the MCZ collection (P. Perkins pers. comm). The material was studied based on the pictures taken of this specimen. It is designated as lectotype and has been so labeled by the first author. Images of the lectotype and its labels are given in Fig. 1 View Fig. 1 .
