Genus Antoonops Fannes & Jocqué, 2008 View in CoL
Antoonops Fannes & Jocqué, 2008: 3 (type species by original designation Antoonops corbulo Fannes & Jocqué ).
Diagnosis. Antoonops belongs to the Zyngoonops group, a large assemblage that also includes the genera Zyngoonops , Coxapopha and Triaeris , as well as several undescribed genera (Fannes 2013, Platnick et al. 2012). Antoonops can be distinguished from the other members of the Zyngoonops group by the following combination of features: in both sexes, the abdomen shows a dorsal constriction ( Figs. 2A View FIGURE 2. A –E, 4E, 12E); the median projections on the male endites are directed posteriorly ( Fig. 6 View FIGURE 6 D, E; Fannes 2013, figs. 91F, 92E); males have a slender, unbranched conductor that is situated prolaterally of the embolus ( Fig. 8 View FIGURE 8 E, F; Fannes 2013, figs. 90E, 93B).
FIGURE 6. Antoonops kamieli n. sp., male. A. Posterior part of sternum, ventral view. B. Right chelicera, posterior view, showing row of five long setae (arrowhead) and spines (arrow). C. Mouthparts, ventral view. D. Median part of endites, ventral view. Arrow: median projection of right endite. Arrowhead: setae 1 - 3 of right endite. E. Same, ventro-lateral view. Arrow: median projection of right endite. Asterisk: pocket in median wall of right endite. F. Same, anterior view. Arrow: median projection of right endite. Scale bars: 5 µm (D – F), 10 µm (A, B), 20 µm (C).
