Genus Antoonops Fannes & Jocqué, 2008 View in CoL

Antoonops Fannes & Jocqué, 2008: 3 (type species by original designation Antoonops corbulo Fannes & Jocqué ).

Diagnosis. Antoonops belongs to the Zyngoonops group, a large assemblage that also includes the genera Zyngoonops , Coxapopha and Triaeris , as well as several undescribed genera (Fannes 2013, Platnick et al. 2012). Antoonops can be distinguished from the other members of the Zyngoonops group by the following combination of features: in both sexes, the abdomen shows a dorsal constriction ( Figs. 2A View FIGURE 2. A –E, 4E, 12E); the median projections on the male endites are directed posteriorly ( Fig. 6 View FIGURE 6 D, E; Fannes 2013, figs. 91F, 92E); males have a slender, unbranched conductor that is situated prolaterally of the embolus ( Fig. 8 View FIGURE 8 E, F; Fannes 2013, figs. 90E, 93B).
