Type locality. Described from Mediterranean Sea.

Remarks. Name proposed to raise to species level Vermetus triqueter var. β Philippi, 1836. Subsequently figured (1892c, pl. II, figs 1, 2). Recorded by MolluscaBase (2018) as a synonym of Vermetus triquetrus Ant. Bivona, 1832 .
