Type locality. Palermo (Sicily). Described also from Balearic Islands, Algiers and Bona ( Algeria), Messina (Sicily), Napoli ( Italy) and Lipari Is.
Remarks. Based in part on Clathurella philberti Michaud, 1829 , as misidentified by B.D.D. (1883). Paralectotypes also in MNHN (figured B.D.D. specimens) and HUJ (Coen collection). Recorded by MolluscaBase (2018) as Raphitoma contigua (Monterosato, 1884) .
