Type material. Holotype, female (slide number NJAUAcariEriW13b, marked Holotype), from Cyclobalanopsis glauca (Fagaceae) , The Guniujiang National Natural Reserve, Qimen County, Anhui Province, P. R. China, 30°00'57" N, 117°31'29" E, elevation 370m, 20 September 2007, coll. Zi-Wei Song and Zhen Wang. Paratypes, 2 females and 1 male (slide number NJAUAcariEriW13b), with the same data as holotype.
Relation to host. Vagrant on leaf surface. No damage to the host was observed.
Etymology. The specific designation qimenensis is from the name of the location, Qimen, where the species was collected.
Differential diagnosis. This species is similar to R. albus Keifer, 1959c , but can be differentiated from the latter by empodium 5-rayed (empodium 9-rayed in R. albus ), female genital coverflap with irregular longitudinal ridges at base and 4 diagonal ridges at posterior (coverflap with 17 longitudinal ridges in R. albus ) and scapular setae projecting posteriorly (scapular setae projecting forward in R. albus ).
