Scapular tubercles on rear margin, 41 (39–42) apart, scapular setae (sc) 12 (12–13) projecting posterior. Coxal area with short lines; anterolateral setae on coxisternum (1b) 7 (6–9), proximal setae on coxisternum (1a) 16 (15–19), proximal setae on coxisternum (2a) 46 (43–51). Prosternal apodeme present. MALE: Unknown.
Types
Holotype, female, China : Shaanxi Province, Cuihua Mountain, 32°59.40’N, 109°00.04’E. August 14, 2005, from Populus sp. L. ( Salicaceae ), coll. Xue, XiaoFeng & Song, ZiWei. Paratypes, 7 females, with the same data as holotype.
Relation to host
Mites are vagrant on leaf surface, causing no apparent damage.
Remarks
This species is similar to Tetra populi Kuang, Kuang & Zhang, 1999 , but can be differentiated by prodorsal shield with median, admedian and submedian lines present and obscure (only with admedian lines in T. populi ), opisthosoma with microtubercles on dorsal annuli (dorsal annuli smooth in T. populi ) and female genital coverflap with 10 longitudinal ridges and 2 transverse lines at base (female genital coverflap with 12 to 14 longitudinal ridges in T. populi ).
