Treatment

The genus Heteroconger View in CoL View at ENA ZBK is very similar to those larvae described above. However, the dorsal fin is longer and there is no crescentic subocular patch (Smith, 1989k) (Figure 32).

Two specimens of this genus were collected during the winter, in Bahia coast and over Jaseur Bank (Figure 33). Study Material: DZUFRJ 2761, 2762; two specimens; total myomeres162-170; 27.3-69.5 mm SL.
