Distribution: Brazil: Pará, Paraná.
New record for the Paraná State.
Comments: This species is currently considered as a junior synonym of Neoconocephalus tuberculatus (De Geer, 1773) . However, when studying the collected specimens, we observed some differences between this species and N. tuberculatus (analyzed through photos of holotype, available at OSF): (1) tibia I and II black; (2) femur III with black colour in the apical half, and with spines of different colour; (3) conical vertex, much longer than wide; (4) fastigium of the vertex black; (5) A2 vein dorsally distinct and with a colour that varies from black to light yellow; (6) rounded mirror. This is the southernmost record of the species, which was only previously recorded in the North of the country. So, this is the first record of the species for the Atlantic Forest.
Bioacoustics: Sound not recorded.
