Distribution: Argentina: Misiones; Bolivia: La Paz; Brazil: Paraná, Rio Grande do Sul, São Paulo; Paraguay: Guairá.

New record for the Paraná State.

Comments: Despite this is a new record for the Paraná State, the species was already recorded in neighbouring areas both in Brazil and in Argentina. Differently from the other species of Steirodontini previously presented, S. marginoides seems to be more restricted to southern South America.

Bioacoustics: Sound not recorded.
