Cryptotympana aquila, Hayashi, 1987 a: 173 –180, Khow Sai, Dow (1000 ft), Trong Lower Siam; Khao Chong, Thailand; Chao Chong, Thailand, Chiang Mai, Thailand; Doi Pui, Chiangmai, Thailand.

Cryptotympana aquila, Boulard, 2003 d: 98 –100, forested mountain range of Doi Mon Kia.

Cryptotympana aquila, Boulard, 2005 l: 346, Doi Mon Kia, north Thailand.

Material Examined: UMRM – Kanchanaburi Province, Thong Pha Phum Reforestation Station, 14 o 39 ’N 98 o 35 ’E. PSUC – Songkhla Prov., Ton Nga Chang Wildlife Sanctuary, 06° 56 'N 100 ° 15 'E.

Distribution: Thailand, Malay Penisula, Burma, Laos, Sumatra, and Bornea ( Hayashi, 1987 a). Other localities (Metcalf, 1963 a) appear to be the result of mislabeled specimens ( Hayashi, 1987 a).
