Diagnosis. Same as Cephalops (diagnose above) except for all tibiae lacking stout median and apical spine-like setae; abdomen broad and shortened and membranous area of syntergosternite 8 reaching the epandrium. In some of the more apomorphic species, however, the membranous area is reduced ( De Meyer 1992, 1993).
