The name refers to the late Alzada Kistner who, with her husband David, collected the type series. Her book (1998) about the hazards and rewards of entomological field work in the tropics is highly recommended.
Male. Postpedicels longer than greatest breadth. Ventral face of left side of hypandrium as Fig. 2 View FIGURES 2–5 . Left gonopod as Fig. 5 View FIGURES 2–5 . Tip of right gonopod as Fig. 3 View FIGURES 2–5 . The left hypandrial lobe long and the right is shorter and two branched ( Fig. 4 View FIGURES 2–5 ). Wing 1.0– 1.1 mm long. Costal index 0.53–0.54. Vein 3 with a terminal vesicle which extends beyond tip of costa. All tibiae are brown.
Material. Holotype male, Brazil, Rondônia, Fazenda Rancho Grande, nr Cacaulandia , 28 December 1995, D. H. & A. C. Kistner ( CUMZ, 31-4) . Paratypes, 3 males as holotype (except one in Kistner Collection).
