( Figs 1–9 View FIGURES 1 – 9 )

Specimens examined. Holotype, male, China: Saoshan (N24º82.531’ E 98º79.137’), Yunnan Province, 17. V. 2011, leg. Li-Chao Tian. Paratype, 4 males and 5 females, collected with the holotype, Li-Chao Tian and Gui- Qiang Huang; 2 males, Simao (N22º70.951’ E101º06.183’), Yunnan Province, 30. V. 2011, leg. Zhu Li.

Description. Male ( Fig. 1 View FIGURES 1 – 9 ) body length: 5.9–6.8mm, humeral width: 1.2–1.6mm. Female ( Figs 2–4 View FIGURES 1 – 9 ) body length: 6.7–7.1mm, humeral width: 1.4–1.5mm.

Body black with brownish joints of antennal segments and legs. Head, prothorax (female prothorax clothed with less and shorter white pubescence beneath than male) and first two abdominal segments moderately clothed with gray-white pubescence. Elytron clothed with pitchy brown pubescence, marked with three bands of white pubescence: first commencing from suture at basal 1/10, extending obliquely backwards and then curving outward to margin at basal quarter; second crossing straightly from suture to margin, half away between first band and apex, and third at apex. Ventral surfaces clothed with whitish pubescence, especially on metepisterna and hind corners of metasternum; legs thinly pubescent with a few scattered dark bristles.

Head slightly narrower than prothorax; frons flattened and almost quadrate, with a fine smooth median line ( Fig. 5 View FIGURES 1 – 9 ) and a few large punctures on occiput; clypeus concave ( Fig. 6 View FIGURES 1 – 9 ). Terminal segments of labial and maxillary palpi flabellate ( Figs 7–8 View FIGURES 1 – 9 ). Antennae reaching up to basal 2/3 of elytra, each segment distinctly thickened distally; third segment about twice as long as scape, nearly 1.5 times as long as fourth, fourth shorter than fifth; third to fifth distinctly spined endo-apically, spine of third segment about as long as that of fourth, spine of fifth nearly one-half as long as that of fourth ( Fig. 9 View FIGURES 1 – 9 ). Prothorax longer than broad, disc evenly and feebly convex, and finely granulosepunctate. Scutellum narrowly triangular. Elytra almost parallel, narrowed and obliquely truncate apically. Legs slender; hind femora exceeding elytral apices; first hind tarsal segment about twice as long as next two combined.

Male genitalia. ( Figs 10–18 View FIGURES 10 – 18 ). Tegmen about 1.4 mm long; endophallus with dense minute spinous spicules behind crescent-like sclerites at about basal 2/5 ( Fig. 11 View FIGURES 10 – 18 ). Parameres more or less elongate ( Figs 12–13 View FIGURES 10 – 18 ), nearly 2/5 length of tegmen, almost rounded at apices with a few long setae ( Fig. 14 View FIGURES 10 – 18 ); basal ridge slightly raised ( Fig. 15 View FIGURES 10 – 18 ); ring part almost parallel-sided in basal second ( Fig. 12 View FIGURES 10 – 18 ). Internal sac membranous with a spined region and sclerites ( Figs 16–17 View FIGURES 10 – 18 ). Eighth tergite slightly elongate, with numerous short and a few long setae. Eighth sternite distinctly transverse, almost 2/5 length of median lobe, with apical margin almost transverse, slightly concave at middle ( Fig. 18 View FIGURES 10 – 18 ).

Etymology. The species is named for the first white band far from scutellum. “ proculscuti ” means far away scutellum.

Habitat. This new species was collected on flowers of chestnut. There were bamboos and coffee trees in the habitat.
