Remarks
This is a small grayish-brown Kerivoula species commonly found in the study area. All individuals were caught between 50–995 m a.s.l. in forest, except two, which were trapped in coffee plantations. Comparing with known brown Kerivoula species on the Sunda Shelf, its forearm length and body mass fall into the range of K. hardwickii ( Table 3 View TABLE ). It was smaller than K. papillosa , and slightly larger than K. whiteheadi . It overlapped with K. flora and K. lenis in forearm length but can be separated from this species by body mass. ( Table 3 View TABLE ). In K. whiteheadi the first two upper premolars are elongated, which they are not in K. hardwickii ( Yasuma et al., 2003) . In the present study, we assigned these bats to K. hardwickii , which is listed for Sumatra ( Suyanto et al., 2002; Simmons, 2005).
