Note: the description of the nymph of Ixodes nitens in Neumann (1904) is extremely brief, possibly leading Camicas et al. (1998) to list it as undescribed. Kolonin (2009) states that the known stages of Ixodes nitens are the male and the nymph, but while the female has been described the male remains unknown.
