An Oriental and Palearctic species whose adults are usually found on Artiodactyla : Bovidae , but adult ticks have also been collected from Artiodactyla : Cervidae and Moschidae , and Carnivora : Canidae . There are no records of Ixodes nuttallianus causing human parasitism.
