A Palearctic species, all of whose parasitic stages are usually found on Rodentia : Muridae ; adults alone have been recovered from Carnivora : Mustelidae ; nymphs alone have been collected from Soricomorpha : Soricidae ; unknown stages have been found on Rodentia : Cricetidae and Sciuridae , and Squamata : Viperidae (Maslenikova et al. 1964, Guglielmone et al. 2014). There are no records of Ixodes occultus causing human parasitism.
