An Oriental species whose adults are usually found on Testudines : Testudinidae , with a very few records from Squamata : Pythonidae , Elapidae and Varanidae , and unconfirmed records from Mammalia. There are no bona fide records of Amblyomma clypeolatum causing human parasitism.
