An Afrotropical species whose adults are usually found on Carnivora : Eupleridae and Viverridae , but all parasitic stages have been collected from Eupleridae ; adults and nymphs have been recovered from Viverridae ; adults alone have been taken from Carnivora : Canidae ; while nymphs and larvae have been found on Afrosoricida : Tenrecidae , and Rodentia : Muridae and Nesomyidae . There are no records of Haemaphysalis obtusa causing human parasitism.
