An Oriental and Palearctic species whose adults are usually found on Artiodactyla : Bovidae . All parasitic stages have been collected from Rodentia : Muridae ; adults and nymphs have been recovered from Bovidae . Adult ticks alone have been taken from Artiodactyla : Camelidae and Cervidae , Carnivora : Canidae and Felidae , Perissodactyla : Equidae , Rodentia : Sciuridae , and Passeriformes : Corvidae ; while immature stages alone have been found on Carnivora : Herpestidae , Erinaceomorpha : Erinaceidae , Rodentia : Cricetidae , Soricomorpha : Soricidae , and birds of unknown orders (addenda in Hoogstraal et al. 1966 a, Guglielmone & Robbins 2018). Haemaphysalis montgomeryi is a rare parasite of humans.
